"Accept"

This project is a short stop motion video—that tells the poetic and bittersweet story of an artist living in their own imaginative world. The main and only character is a sun-headed figure. I designed and handcrafted the character's mask using papier-mâché and cardboard, giving it a bold, almost surreal presence.

The narrative reflects a dilemma many artists face: the desire to remain immersed in the act of creating freely, in a space shaped by self-expression, while being constantly pulled back into the expectations of society. The story ends with the artist forced to close the chapter of creation and return to the "real world"—a world that often values different kinds of contributions, ones considered more practical or functional for society.

For the video, I built a studio space to serve as the artist's world. I decorated the walls, arranged the canvas and table, and gave decorated the walls, arranged the canvas and table, and gave the setting its own visual character.

This was my very first attempt at stop motion, and although I made many technical mistakes along the way, I believe the final result—raw and imperfect—still carries a unique spirit and visual charm.
